So I went to my usual area on the West Branch this morning. I started walking north from the route 100 bridge onto Longacre’s farm and didn’t see any fish at all so then I turned around and headed south on the other side of the bridge and still nothing, not even a creek chub. At this point I was really starting to wonder what’s going on around here so I got back in the car and drove up to the dam on Mensch Mill Road . I fished at the dam and caught five browns ranging from a four inch fish up to a nice twelve inch one . I then decided to cross the dam and go to the falls above the mill pond where I caught six more decent sized browns . I’m happy that I found trout upstream from where I started out. I think the problem downstream might be over fishing. There was a car parked next to me and I have noticed that the local Walmart is sold out of the spinner that I always use. I’ll see what happens tomorrow morning when I try again.
