A nice October afternoon to go fishing.





 It was such a beautiful afternoon that I decided to go fishing for a couple of hours (not that I need any excuse :) I went out to my usual spot on the west branch of the Perkiomen at rte 100. I headed downstream first and on my first cast I caught the biggest brown trout of my outing. From there I went further downstream and caught quite a few smaller browns. I then went upstream past the bridge and caught some better sized fish. I decided to drive over to Bally Rocks to see if I could find any brookies. There was nothing going on at the main hole so I decided to go downstream. At the next hole I found a nice sized brook trout willing to attack my spinner then I went a little further and caught a small brown. At this point it was getting pretty dark so I figured that I better hike back to my car and go home. When I was finally back at the car packing up a man pulled up and asked me if I had been hunting wild browns. We talked for about 15 minutes and I showed him some pictures of trout from that area and then we said our goodbyes. I also ran into a fly fisherman while I was fishing. I asked him if he was doing any good but he said nothing was biting. I didn’t have the heart to tell him that I had just caught twelve trout in two hours.😳
